Dal Tadka दल ताड़का
Ingredients
Lentils
- 300 g Tur Dal
- 1 tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Turmeric powder
- 900 ml Water
Turka
- 1 tbsp oil or Ghee
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 inch Ginger chopped
- 1 clove Garlic chopped
- 1 Green chili chopped
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 Tomato chopped
- ½ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
- Fresh Coriander chopped
Instructions
- Add all the lentils ingredient to a pot.
- Cook with lid on for 20-25 minutes. Check at 20 and add boiling water if required.
Turka
- Add oil and cumin and let splutter.
- Add ginger, garlic and chili and cook for a minute.
- Add onion and brown.
- Add tomato. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add chili powder, mix. Add coriander.
- Mix the turka with the dal or serve on top.
- DONE!
