Instructions
Add oil in a pan.
Add first spice. Let them begin to crackle.
Add Urad dal. Stir often and fry until golden.
Add second spice. Mix and fry until the chilies change color, but not burn.
Add tomato and third spice. Saute until the tomatoes soften. When they become mushy, remove from heat.
Add Tamarind and stir.
Add the paste to a blender. Add 1/4 cup of water. Add more if required.
Blend to a smooth consistency.
